Thanks to the adaptability and diligence of Progressive Systems’ team during the Covid shutdown, Torbay Hospital now has a much-needed, increased capacity. Since opening in June 2022, the new unit is playing a vital role in helping to tackle a shortage of beds for mental health patients in Torquay, Devon.

Launceston College is now one of the biggest schools in the Duchy of Cornwall, with an increase of almost 30% in student numbers, according to CornwallLive – thanks to an overall £10.5m expansion investment. Due to the strong reputation of its SpecMaster specification service and the quality of its tiles, BMI Redland was chosen by Fulwood Roofing and Conlon Construction to supply the new roof system and solutions for a complete roof refurbishment.
The school building itself dates back to the early 20th century and is comprised of 24 individual roofs with many hips and valleys. Each roof was in urgent need of refurbishment to retain the lifespan of the building and ensure safety of students and staff for years to come. This made for a 4,000 square metre retiling, equating to roughly 240,000 Rosemary Clay Classic tiles.
The refurbishment of Stockport School has restored not just a lively school, but a key building in the area. Fulwood Roofing were able to deliver a complete solution just two weeks after the date outlined in the initial contract. However, running slightly over was to be expected, as the school increased the scope of the project towards the end.
The recent roof refurbishment of Stockport School in Greater Manchester is a key example of expert craftsmanship to ensure that a school with a long and prestigious history can continue to serve its community for decades to come.
