Open to roofing apprentices in both pitched and flat, the BMI Apprentice of the Year competition allows you to showcase your skills to the industry, with the winner being awarded a generous cash prize of £1,000 and the prestigious title of Apprentice of Year, as well as three years’ worth of training support from the BMI Academy.

We currently offer six CPDs to architects and specifiers, delivered by our specification team and reflecting our view that the transfer of knowledge is essential.
This seminar provides a holistic view of flat roofing refurbishment and takes into account some important elements that are often overlooked. The bespoke content has been structured into 3 areas: Design it. Build it. Live it. This approach reflects the typical life cycle of a building and provides an understanding of how to rationalise refurbishment specification.
This presentation is designed to provide a basic foundation to the understanding of pitched roof systems, providing an overview of the basic terminology and an understanding of the materials, design and application of a pitched roof installation.
Defects in Pitched Roofing looks in detail at the requirements of relevant Codes of Practice and their implementation in the installation of a pitched roof system. Both good and bad examples of pitched roofing will be shown to illustrate the need to properly design, specify and supervise the installation of a high quality system.
