Investing in the future of roofing
The BMI Academy prides itself on its incredibly strong relationship with training centres and roofing colleges across the country. We provide tailored support to the apprenticeship programmes by providing systems, practical and theoretical training and opportunities for young roofers and apprentices to be recognised with our annual BMI Apprentice of the Year competition and sponsorship of the NFRC Young Roofer of the Year and LRWA student of the year awards.
Working closely with colleges who are delivering apprenticeship training is important in the current climate where skills shortages are at the forefront of challenges the industry is facing. We place huge value on empowering apprentices with the knowledge, support and training opportunities needed to develop the skills to become career driven roofers of the future.

BMI Apprentice of the Year
The Apprentice of the Year competition looks to reward one pitched and one flat Apprentice of the Year winner each year. The competition is different to other competitions for the construction industry as it focuses on business and marketing skills as well as technical skills, preparing the apprentice for a successful career in roofing.
